Here are the final, lettered pages of the Scragg story. When creating this story, I sort of aimed for the mythical idea that this was an early Mad Magazine parody by Harvey Kurtzmanand Wally Wood, of a Conan story drawn by Frank Frazetta, as interpreted by me.
Whew! Did you follow me on that?
While I’m no Kurtzman, Wood or Frazetta, I think I achieved my goal fairly well. Anyway, it made me laugh…
While it’s true I am an old fashioned guy, I did use the computer for most of the lettering. (Everything in this story except the SCRAGG logo.) I do this partly because it’s faster, and allows for easy corrections, but also because I am a terrrible letterer! I just never got the hang of it. The word balloons were created by hand and scanned into the computer by Ty Templeton, who was kind enough to e-mail them to me a while ago. Thanks Ty!
Anyway, here’s the final pages, I hope you find it fun!
